All about “Gift”?

Everyone of us receiving and giving out gifts for all kind of occasions, from birthday to wedding anniversary, for young children to elderly, for family members to close friends, boss, neighbours and so on. And very often especially towards the end of a year after getting bonuses, many of us also not forgetting pampering ourselves. We’ll just grab some exclusive items for ourselves after passing through one whole year’s hard works. “Housewife” also has the right to deserve one, don’t you agree?

In my view, the main spirit of giving or receiving gift is to bring joy and let the recipient know that we care. A gift can be a visible product or invisible one, like holiday package, club membership, insurance coverage, learning opportunity and etc. Most importantly is “The Right Gift” is given to “The Right Recipient“. That means the gift giving person is financially affordable while the recipient is happy and appreciate the gift that he/she received.

Different individuals have different needs. Before deciding on getting a gift for someone, we have to logically consider the following factors concerning the recipient:-

  • age group - newborn baby, toddler, kid, teenage, adult, elderly, etc.
  • gender - male/female.
  • occupation - professionals, white/blue collars, housewives, students, retired persons, etc.
  • health condition - pregnant woman, person involving slimming/dieting program, sick person, etc.
  • relationship - lovers, family members, close friends, colleagues, boss, business partners, etc.
  • habits/hobbies/interests - like or dislikes.
  • occasions - wedding anniversary, birthday, graduation, father/mother’s day, valentine’s day, etc.

The answers for all the above factors can actually be obtained through observation, conversation and also by asking around her/his friends and family members.

Lastly, try to source and buy your gift in advance by marking on calendar and also always keep within your budget to avoid overspending.
